BDB Margutta Rome
The historic center starts at your doorstep
Galleries, ateliers, and Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo, all on foot
BDB Rooms Margutta is located in the historic center, the network of streets stretching down from Piazza del Popolo toward the heart of the city. Surrounded by the Rome that made poets, directors, and travelers fall in love: the galleries and ateliers that give the street its name, the boutiques of Via dei Condotti, historic cafés, and quiet alleys where time naturally slows down. From here, the historic center is best explored on foot, with the pleasure of returning each time to a street that remains serene.
The neighborhood around you
The street of artists between the squares of the historic center
Life in this corner of Rome revolves around Via Margutta, the street that gave a home to painters, sculptors, and filmmakers, and which still hides art galleries, ateliers, and antique shops behind ivy-covered facades. Just steps away lie the two iconic squares of the historic center: Piazza del Popolo, with its twin churches, the obelisk, and the Pincio terrace overlooking it from above, and Piazza di Spagna, where Bernini's Barcaccia fountain welcomes passersby at the foot of the Spanish Steps. In between are quiet courtyards and narrow alleys where you might stumble upon a hidden fountain or an art showcase just around the right corner.
The historic center is the realm of shopping and haute couture — Via dei Condotti, Via del Babuino, Via del Corso — filled with the lively energy that flows through the city's most elegant streets. Via Margutta, by contrast, remains its tranquil side: here, the day unfolds at a peaceful pace amidst historic cafés, open-air art displays, and the gentle stroll of those seeking the artistic soul of Rome — two minutes from the vibrant center, yet worlds away from its hustle and bustle.
